Holy Week and Easter
Join us as we continue to hear the Good News! Holy Week is some of the most holy and ancient of our Christian practice and you are invited to join us this year.
We begin with Palm Sunday on Sunday March 29th at 10 a.m. This is when Jesus rides triumphantly into the holy city and the crowds wave palm branches.
We continue on Maundy Thursday on Thursday April 2nd at 7 p.m. This service remembers Jesus last supper and last act of service for his disciples.
We then move onto Good Friday on Friday April 3rd at 7 p.m. This is when we hear the story of Jesus passion and death on the cross.
We then join Christ in the darkness of the tomb with our Easter Vigil on Saturday April 4th at 7 p.m. This service will be interactive, and require standing and walking as we hear the story of God’s salvation throughout history.
Finally, we celebrate with joy on Sunday April 5th at 10 a.m. and our Easter Service. Brass, bells, and choirs, will all be on hand as we celebrate the resurrection of our savior!
You are invited to take this holy journey with us! We hope you’ll join us.
Tell Me Something Good - Lent At Good Shepherd
Tell me Something Good, Grounding ourselves in the Good News this Lent! All invited to join us as we journey with Jesus toward Easter Sunday. Each week we will hear new Good News about God’s promises to us, and to the world. We are patterning with the organization, A Sanctified Art, to bring new artwork, devotions, theming, activities, and worship elements to our Lenten journey. As the creators of the series state, “Lent was originally a season for new converts to learn and prepare for their baptism on Easter. During that time, they would study what was central to Christianity. As we crafted this series, we studied what was central to Jesus’ life and ministry: radical welcome, love for neighbor, care for the vulnerable, nourishment for the hungry, nonviolence in the face of injustice. At the heart of Jesus’ teachings, we find liberation, love, mercy, and grace—all of which are meant to be very good news for us all.”
We hope you’ll join us Sunday mornings at 10 a.m. as we delve into these themes. Also be sure to pick up a devotional deck for your Lenten practice, and stay tuned to our social media for updates with art, devotions, and prayer. Journey with us this Lent as we seek to hear to the Good News of Jesus Christ!
